During these last few years, the work environment has switched to being highly remote. Many tech companies have done the transition from 100% on site to a more remote way of working. Some attend the office 50% of the time, and others are closer to 100% remote.
We have adapted as well and have found some amazing benefits to learning Swedish remotely.
More speech practice with smaller groups in breakout rooms.
When learning a language, having the opportunity to speak is vital. The bigger the group, the less chance a student usually gets.
However, with video conferencing technology we have found a way of easily being all together when necessary, yet dividing the class into small groups just as easily.
Breakout rooms are a great feature. Which gives the Swedish student the chance of coming up with their own phrases, without being influenced by the group sitting next to them. Which often happens in a physical classroom.
Missed a lesson? No problem! Watch the recording.
Another big issue with having Swedish as a benefit for the employees is that emergencies happen. You might have an important meeting or some fires to put out. And during those emergencies, it is easy to miss a lesson and then lag behind.
Technology again comes to our rescue. In our courses we now offer the option of recording each and every lesson and making it easily available for the students to watch them the day after. Which helps people to not be left behind or neglect their work obligations.
